NABOR Committees

Who We Are

Our membership size affords us the opportunity and time to offer exceptional personal assistance to all our members. The present governing body of NABOR is made up of career brokers and agents from Slidell, Covington, Mandeville, Folsom, and Hammond. Northshore Area Board of Realtors revitalized its working committee teams (Affiliate, Awards, Education, Legislative, Special Events, Technology, Grievance, and Professional Standards) to be of more profitable service to the diverse needs of its members. NABOR serves its members through involvement with the Louisiana Realtors Association and the National Association of Realtors.

 

Committees

Affiliate Committee

Support existing affiliates and invite companies to join as an affiliate company, create new strategies how we can better serve these affiliates, networking ability to promote affiliates and agents, ongoing line of open communications, encourage new tactics of support and promote affiliates so they realize and appreciate the value of their membership.

Education Committee

Coordinates scheduling, venue reservation and approved instructors and/or educational vendors of pre- and post-continuing education classes, course promotion, registrations, fees + cancellations, attendee list, handle onsite processing of attendees, secure class sponsors and/or refreshments, keep in touch with NABOR staff and board on all education issues. 

Awards Committee

This committee is responsible for promotion of the event, educating eligibility to local agents, upholding all rules and regulations, soliciting sponsor support, publications, review all submissions + determine category winner, assist in all aspects of this successful event.  

Membership Committee

This committee plays a leading role in the recruitment of new members and the successful retention of existing ones. They are also active in the design, marketing, and implementation of member benefits programs.

Grievance Committee

The Grievance Committee is responsible for investigating and making preliminary evaluations of ethics complaints and arbitration requests to determine if a hearing by a Professional Standards tribunal is warranted. The committee operates under procedures set forth in the Code of Ethics and Arbitration Manual of the National Association of Realtors. “Committee members should be mature, experienced, knowledgeable persons of a judicial temperament.” Does require advanced and specialized training.

Professional Standards Committee

This “Committee” is charged with enforcement of the Realtor Code of Ethics and hearing Arbitration Requests through professional standards hearings. It is charged to hear ethics complaints referred to the committee by the Grievance Committee and afford due process in all proceedings. “Committee members should be mature, knowledgeable persons of a judicial temperament.” *You must have served on the Grievance Committee. Does require advanced and specialized training.

Political Action Committee / Political Advisory Team

The PAC Committee ensures the legislative process is working in the best interests of the real estate industry and works diligently to influence the outcome of key real estate issues at the local level. Promotion of NABOR with local and state legislative affairs; help develop PAC fundraisers; educates members and the community on the value of PACs, following all PAC guidelines with LR meeting attendance.

Public Relations Committee

Promote and attend all events, capture creative content to provide as press release for all media submissions, enhances NABOR’s exposure to the community, maintains control over all social media with an understanding social media etiquette, major publications, maintains an organized library of releases and archives that can be used for referrals and reports. 

Special Events Committee

Works closely with other committees to plan and coordinate special events including awards and member, fund raisers and affiliate appreciation party.

Technology Committee

Responsible for advancing social media engagement, online branding, website improvements, provides exciting and relevant information for members and developing these areas for maximum exposure

NABOR Young Professionals Network

Brings together Young REALTORS® and REALTOR® Affiliates to develop sound business and leadership principals leading to growth in their businesses and ability to become future NABOR leaders.  Community service, outreach and RPAC support is top priority for the members.  Activities and events will be geared to those under the age of 40 however all ages will be welcome to become members.

All REALTORS® must complete an approved Code of Ethics course between January 1, 2022-December 31, 2024 to maintain REALTOR® membership. You can verify your Ethics completion Here (External Link).
